Critical Incident Support and Debriefing

Critical Incident Support and Debriefing is a “psychological first aid.” CISD is often provided to a group of individuals who’ve experienced a traumatic or life-threatening event. The primary emphasis of the Critical Incident Support and Debriefing is to educate, empower and provide various strategies to best support and to recover from the incident; in the hopes of preventing a lasting negative psychological impact. The CISD is not a stand-alone process and should be linked and blended with numerous ongoing support services, including but not limited to, pre-incident education, individual crisis intervention, family support services, follow-up services, and referrals for professional care.

Trauma Therapy Intensive (Brainspotting or EMDR)

First of its kind in the Cornwall and surrounding area, New Mindset Therapy is now offering Trauma Intensive Therapy. During a Trauma  Intensive Therapy experience, the therapist and client typically meet for 4 hours each day over 2 to 5 days. During this time the client has the opportunity to develop/strengthen resources (coping skills) and to reprocess traumatic experiences from the past. The therapist guides the client through the process using EMDR therapy or Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing, targeting specific traumatic memories or events to process and integrate into the individual’s overall understanding of their experiences.Whether you’re a busy parent with kids, a working professional with a lot on your plate, or you just want faster results, Trauma Intensive Therapy programming can help you break free from your past so that it no longer stops you from living the life you really want.
