Your Journey to Wellness Begins Here.

What we can support you with:

At New Mindset Therapy, we recognize that no two healing journeys are alike. People seek therapy for many reasons—some are navigating overwhelming emotions, others are processing past experiences, and many are simply trying to reconnect with themselves in a deeper, more meaningful way. Wherever you are on your path, you don’t have to walk it alone.

We specialize in helping individuals, couples, families, and youth move from coping and survival into clarity, connection, and lasting transformation. Through evidence-based, trauma-informed, and neuroscience-driven therapies, we offer a safe and welcoming space to explore the root of your struggles and support long-term emotional wellness.

Complete regular out-of-session practice assignments to apply what has been discussed in therapy sessions. PTSD symptoms have been reported to decrease on average within the first 4 sessions.

Individual or Group Supervision / Consultation

Are you a new social worker or an experienced social worker and require ongoing support, supervision or consultation in your field? Our registered social workers provide exceptional quality services and learning opportunities in a safe and supportive environment. If you are new to private practice or want to challenge and grow your social work skills, our qualified and knowledgeable social workers are able to guide you on your journey. For a more comprehensive program tailored to your specific needs please contact us at New Mindset Therapy. New Mindset Therapy also offers a group rate for 3 or more social workers.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Group Sessions

A DBT skills training group is facilitated by a skilled social worker similar to a class. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a type of talk therapy for people who experience emotions very intensely. It’s a common therapy for people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder but can also be provided for other mental health difficulties as well.

Critical Incident Support and Debriefing

Critical Incident Support and Debriefing is a “psychological first aid.” CISD is often provided to a group of individuals who’ve experienced a traumatic or life-threatening event. The primary emphasis of the Critical Incident Support and Debriefing is to educate, empower and provide various strategies to best support and to recover from the incident; in the hopes of preventing a lasting negative psychological impact. The CISD is not a stand-alone process and should be linked and blended with numerous ongoing support services, including but not limited to, pre-incident education, individual crisis intervention, family support services, follow-up services, and referrals for professional care.

Trauma Therapy Intensive (Brainspotting or EMDR)

First of its kind in the Cornwall and surrounding area, New Mindset Therapy is now offering Trauma Intensive Therapy. During a Trauma  Intensive Therapy experience, the therapist and client typically meet for 4 hours each day over 2 to 5 days. During this time the client has the opportunity to develop/strengthen resources (coping skills) and to reprocess traumatic experiences from the past. The therapist guides the client through the process using EMDR therapy or Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing, targeting specific traumatic memories or events to process and integrate into the individual’s overall understanding of their experiences. Whether you’re a busy parent with kids, a working professional with a lot on your plate, or you just want faster results, Trauma Intensive Therapy programming can help you break free from your past so that it no longer stops you from living the life you really want. If you don’t want to spend months in the traditional weekly therapy treatment model to feel better EMDR or Brainspotting Intensive Therapy is for you.
